In this hands-on portion of our course, you'll come to Alberta for 2 weeks to meet and work with one of our instructors alongside our operating team, K9 Gentle Dental.

Work on 50+ Real Dogs
During your practicum you will be able to apply all your skills to real situations in a safe setting with the experience and support of your dedicated instructor.
The Practicum Level 1 is the second portion to complete your Complete Level 1 training. You will see 50+ dogs during your practicum and be able to apply all your skills in a safe setting with the experience and support of your dedicated instructor, who will be by your side the entire time. We will work to build your skill set and your confidence by providing you with tips and tricks that we have gained after years of hands-on experience. You will meet dogs of all shapes and sizes and see how a busy and successful teeth-cleaning business operates. You will gain experience dealing with clients and practice everything you learned about our unique industry in real-world settings. Your in-person time with us will allow you to experience what it's like to operate a business and what to expect once you start taking your own clients!
The Practicum Level 1 can only be taken separately with prior approval to accommodate your lifestyle and learning needs if the Complete Level 1 course has been completed after 6 months and within 12 months. The Practicum Level 1 is the same as the Complete Level 1 course's hands-on portion. This component is the final training tool used to master your craft if you have been struggling to complete cleanings or encountering difficulties trying the hands-on skills independently. You will join a dedicated instructor for 2 weeks and work on client dogs of all shapes and sizes. While safely supervised, you will receive all the in-person tips, tricks and directions to hone your skills and head home feeling more confident and capable than ever!

The Practicum Level 1 can also be re-taken a second time for an additional fee if a student has already completed the Complete Level 1 and Practicum Level 1 and feels like they need or want more hands-on training at guidance.
The Practicum Level 1 is included in the cost of the Complete Level 1 course if completed within 6 months of each other. If this course is taken beyond 6 months and before 12 months of completion of the Complete Level 1 course, or if a student repeats the in-person hands-on portion, the fee will be CAD$2,000+GST.
