We want you to run your own successful, anesthesia-free teeth-cleaning business! In addition to online instruction, you will train in person with the pros at K9 Gentle Dental during your 2-week practicum.

We are the only anesthesia-free teeth-cleaning course that offers dog-simulation tools to help you learn the art of dental scaling at home in a safe, controlled environment. We never would want to put our students or our clients' doggies into a potentially dangerous and stressful situation with someone who has never scaled a dog's teeth before! By using these amazing training tools, our students and our doggie clients are safer. Our course is the only one that covers the in-depth knowledge you need to become an expert in this field. Knowing how to physically clean teeth in a non-medical setting is not helpful unless the practitioner also knows what "red flags" to look for, how to handle senior dogs and dogs with special-needs medical issues, how to track oral markers at each visit and how to directly and correctly relay that information back to the client without confusing them about it not being a diagnosis. The list could go on and on! Being a really good anesthesia-free teeth cleaner requires a ton of knowledge, and we teach it all!

Currently, we offer programs that teach anesthesia-free teeth cleaning from several perspectives. We currently offer 4 teeth-cleaning courses. 1. To help like-minded passionate individuals start their own teeth cleaning business. 2. To train the staff of other established teeth cleaning businesses, allowing faster growth for that teeth cleaning company. 3. To educate established business owners, allowing them to create a new branch within their business to offer teeth cleaning services. 4. To train the staff of established businesses so they can help grow the new branch. We are working day and night to bring forward other courses related to this industry in the coming years! At The Gentle Dental Academy, we have carefully crafted online courses that combine traditional schooling methods, such as theory, testing, and assignments, with our tried-and-true practical learning tools, which will be sent right to your home. You will have over 50 hours of at-home hands-on training before coming to Alberta, where you will gain another 80 hours of one-on-one, hands-on training.

To enrol in our programs, please complete the application form on our website. If we think you might be a good fit for our Academy, we will schedule a phone call to ask questions about your application and to share more about the program you are interested in. After that call, we will let you know whether you are accepted and go from there. We will also get back to you with feedback on why we did not accept you into our Academy at this time, along with suggestions to improve your application in the future.

A CAD $1000+GST deposit is required to hold your spot in any Gentle Dental Academy course. The deposit is refundable up to 4 weeks after payment. After those 4 weeks, it is no longer refundable, and if you decide you do not want to take the course, this deposit will be forfeit. This is in place to ensure we have serious inquiries only and do not give inaccurate wait times to inquiring students. There is so much that goes into planning admissions and enrolments, which is why we have such a strict deposit refund policy.

Once we receive your deposit, we will finalize the start date for your online training program within 90 days. Within that time, all necessary contracts will be drafted and signed, and all required information will be added to your student folder. Once the remainder of your tuition is paid, the entirety of the course will be released to you, and you will be able to begin your studies at your leisure. If accepted into the program, you can often get started immediately by paying your tuition in full.

The Gentle Dental Academy's Complete Level 1 course, including Practicum Level 1, is offered to the public for CAD$ 20,000 + GST. The full fee must be paid before the course content is released. Cleaning just 80 dogs at our recommended charge of $ 249 + tax will recoup the entire cost of this course! As we fine-tune our courses, we will offer an "early bird" discount to ensure we receive genuine student feedback to help us make the program the absolute best it can be!

Your course fee for the Complete Level 1 course will include: -the 12 online chapters to teach theory and hands-on skills -personalized feedback from instructors with over 25 combined years of experience -your own teeth-cleaning kit that will set you up for your first 80 clients -a 2-week practicum in Calgary with 1-on-1 instruction, personalized feedback and homework to ensure you leave confident and capable -aftercare for whatever comes next for you - we are always here to support our students after they finish their course. The Complete Level 1 course is our most robust course and has a lot of information to take in! With 12 chapters, a minimum of 30 days of hands-on lessons at home, and a 2-week practicum in Alberta, we expect it to take our students between 4 and 7 months to complete if they work at a decent pace. Depending on your availability and schedule, it may take longer or (on some rare occasions) less time than that. Please reach out to us directly to talk about this in detail.

Once you complete the online portion of the course and the in-person practicum, you will receive a certificate of completion outlining the success of your studies and the hours put into the hands-on portions! The Gentle Dental Academy offers a carefully crafted program that covers the ins and outs of the industry and how to confidently enter the anesthesia-free teeth-cleaning field on your own. All our certificates will outline the extensive training the student completed to earn the certificate.
